ABOUT US
CrashCart Pet Haven was founded by Tim Marzullo and Andrew Printer in 2026. It was inspired by Crash, a beloved dog whose role in Tim’s life revealed how deeply people struggling with addiction can depend on a pet’s unconditional love.

Our Story
Andrew and I have been together since 2000. Over the years, we’ve shared our lives with many animals: cats, dogs, birds, and fish. Each one mattered.
Drug use was part of our story from the beginning. In 2014, after six years sober, we moved from San Diego to Key West in search of adventure. Instead, we relapsed.
Three years later, we relocated to Indianapolis to care for Tim’s ailing mother. By then, addiction had taken a toll on everything. Tim returned to California with the animals. Andrew stayed behind.
We both kept using.
Andrew entered treatment in 2022 and returned home the following year. By then, Tim’s world had unraveled. A car accident left him in chronic pain. Almost everything familiar was gone.
Everything except Crash.
Crash, an aging chihuahua, stayed by Tim’s side through it all. When Andrew returned home, he told Tim he needed to choose treatment or risk losing everything else. Tim wanted help, but couldn’t imagine leaving Crash behind. He asked whether the dog could come to rehab. The answer was no.
For many people seeking treatment, this is the impossible choice: yourself or your pet. When you’re the one being asked, it doesn’t feel like a choice.
The day after Tim learned a rehab bed was available, Crash died suddenly in his arms. Tim entered treatment the following week.
Later that year, someone at one of Andrew’s recovery meetings asked if anyone could foster his dogs while he sought help. He couldn’t go otherwise. Andrew said yes.
A small white chihuahua named Marilyn arrived a few days later, becoming the first pet in our care. Since then, we’ve fostered more than twenty animals for people trying to get well.
What began informally made something clear: people often delay treatment because they cannot bear to leave behind the animal that depends on them.
At the same time, many of those pets are living through instability themselves. They also need safety, a healthy routine, medical care, and an opportunity to relax.
Our goal is to preserve the human-animal bond. While people seeking recovery receive the help they need, we provide safety and attention for the pets waiting for them to come home.
